Pledge of Support for Governor Sarah Palin

(The following text was a cover letter I wrote for "Pledge of Support for Governor Sarah Palin", a project undertaken by Sarah Palin's Earthquake Movement.)  February 11, 2012 Dear Governor Palin, In your interview with Tom Sullivan on Fox Business Network, you stated that “I don’t have the organization I think that could propel me to a position of being a viable candidate.” Sad as it was to hear those words, we, your supporters beg to point out that there was one word missing in your statement: YET. Your grassroots supporters “will not wave a white flag and go along to get along ... and will not recapitulate.” You remain the only rogue maverick who will actually shake things up and do what needs to be done in this country. Your tenure in Alaska as a governor, and indeed your whole political life, is a manifesto of how things are done and how things get done - for the good of the people, pure and simple. Our country right now stands on the precipice of history. Another four years of the Obama presidency will entrench the ugly transformation of this nation that Americans did not want or ask for, nor our Founding Fathers envisioned this country to be. There is only one counter-weapon to President Obama’s billion-dollar war chest: We The People. There is only one counter-weapon to the left’s Alinksy rules of engagement: We The People. There is only one counter-weapon to the GOP establishment’s business-as-usual and backroom workings to anoint a nominee for us: We The People. The only leader out there who has the full trust and confidence of We The People is YOU. We are asking for your leadership to bring sudden and relentless reforms in Washington. We need you to take back the White House for all of us. We need you to be our President in 2012. We promise you, we will be there for you and with you. You will not fight this fight alone. On behalf of the Sarah Palin’s Earthquake Movement, please find attached “Pledge of Support for Governor Palin”, which the group gathered via Facebook and e-mails in just 10 days. We will not abandon you and all that you represent because we will never abandon America. Back in the 2008 elections, the Democrats opened the Pandora’s Box and the only good thing that came out of it was HOPE. But that hope was not Barack Obama. It was YOU when you were picked as a VP running mate. We The People are keeping that hope alive. Your army of Davids awaits, ready, willing and able … full steam ahead in 2012!
